a letter to you, my blog

sorry for the absence, go and wander blog.
i've been busy with work. MWF office hours+ overtime + bringing home work + finals week + money problems = me not opting to just forego updating you.
besides, i thought it best to not update you as much since not much going or wandering has been happening in the life of your 'writer.' and the negativity is still pretty much on high levels, i think its the fact that i haven't been satisfying my wanderlust for such a long time. a friend offered me really cheap tickets to boracay but i think i have to take a raincheck. it's not responsible. they did tell me to brace myself for it is not going to be easy. (that's for another story:))

so yeah, with all thats happening, i think all my wandering would just consist of my daily commutes to work. i just filed for overtime yesterday and hopefully that plus my salary is high enough for me to have another trip on my birthday. unless it deems to be irresponsible again.

hope there's wandering to be done soon even if the odds are against it.

belated hearts day!

so yesterday, in between working on my Shangri-La and my|phone studies(more on that later), i managed to squeeze this picnik-ed photo in my tumblr but didn't get to do it here! happy valentine's day to you! at least a belated one.

rant: i'm sorry but there are so much bigger problems than matters of the heart. what is it with all these people in school(and i'm sure everywhere else too) just making such a big fuss about being single and alone on valentines?!? fb is filled with ridiculous statuses such as single and strong, gonna rock valentine's day the single way, etc. get a grip of yourselves. you are still eating 3 meals a day right? i'm all for celebrating this day of love but people ranting about it being single-awareness is not why people in Hallmark still have a job. just saying. end of rant.

in other news, i am working now! part time as an art director. editing and layouting shiz for this small advertising agency. on my first day, i OT-ed! the computer i was using lacked a charger and it died in the middle of my study for my|phone. i didn't save it so nothing was recovered. :( oh well, you learn the hard way.

by the way, those hearts on my picture are from all over! the red one on the bench is from Vienna, Austria, the one to the right of that is of a coconut buried in sand in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, then the cut branch of the tree is in Montjuic in Barcelona, Spain and lastly, the hearts with the locks is from Via dell'Amore in Cinque Terre, Italy. happy hearts day!

tired

i'm tired. i have been tired and then some.
there's so much to do in school plus i have to move out this weekend.
great.i'd rather just be stuck staring at this view than anything else right now.

Bums in the Attic

I want a house on a hill like the ones with the gardens where Papa works. We go on Sundays, Papa's day off. I used to go. I don't anymore. You don't like to go out with us, Papa says. Getting too old? Getting too stuck-up, says Nenny. I don't tell them I am ashamed -- all of us staring out the window like the hungry. I am tired of looking at what we can't have. When we win the lottery...Mama begins, and then I stop listening.

People who live on hills sleep so close to the stars they forget those of us who live too much on earth. They don't look down at all except to be content to live on hills. They have nothing to do with the last week's garbage or fear of rats. Night comes. Nothing wakes them but the wind.

one day I'll own my own house, but I won't forget who I am or where I came from. Passing bums will ask, Can I come in? I'll offer them the attic, ask them to stay, because i know how it is to be without a house.

Some days after dinner, guests and I will sit on front of a fire. Floorboards will squeak upstairs. The attic grumble.

Rats? they'll ask.

Bums, I'll say, and I'll be happy.

SWEATHER!

Manila has been chilly.

Sweater weather! 'sweather!' haha

im wearing this wool sweater from Sfera today in school. WOOL! who thought i could ever wear this here?! i even had to take it out of my winter clothes box. it's been harder to leave the comfort of my sheets and pillows every morning though but i'm not complaining! mother nature, keep it this way. although, this surely is some effect of Global warming, it being unusually late and all.

Lifestyle Asia Travel Postcards!

i'm on a magazine! :) i wrote about this a few months before but just got a copy yesterday!

no big deal. just a page in Lifestyle Asia Travel showing photos from Czech Republic, Malta, Venice and Slovenia! i would've wanted a full feature on me and my 15-country eurotrip but that's only me. i think i'd have to start my own magazine for that-- like O! but then it'd be I! (or i!, oooh that'd be a cool logo!) anyway, i digress.

oh and about my interview. it went well. since ill be doing part time and a trial basis, they asked me to go MWF but in terms of compensation they asked me to give them a rate! which was kinda hard to do because it was either i was underselling myself or the other way around. aye just told me to say this specific rate which was just right, i guess. to be fair, my portfolio is a bit outdated and even with the rate i said, i felt liek i was ripping them off. and turns out, they are the same team i interned for a few years back. they just left the other company and started a new one. we'll see!
